Furnace Installation in Newman Lake
A new furnace is a twenty-year decision, so we walk you through it before anything is ordered. We measure your home, explain what each efficiency level and blower type means for you, and put the full price in writing. The estimate is free.

When a New Furnace Is the Right Call
Not every struggling furnace needs replacing. If yours is fairly young and the trouble is a single part, such as an igniter, inducer motor or control board, furnace repair usually makes more sense. We will tell you that plainly.
Replacement starts to make sense when the heat exchanger is cracked, when repairs are stacking up winter after winter, or when an older unit is burning far more gas than a modern one would. A long, cold heating season puts real hours on a furnace, and the savings from a better unit add up quickly when it runs from fall into spring.
Our job is to lay out the options in plain terms: what an 80 percent furnace is versus a 96 percent condensing unit, what a variable-speed blower actually does, and which combination fits your home and budget. Then you decide.
What Your Installation Includes
A proper load calculation
We size the furnace from your home itself: square footage, insulation, windows and air leakage. Sizing by the old unit's label is how many homes end up with furnaces that short-cycle and wear out early.
Efficiency options explained
We show you what each efficiency level costs to buy and roughly what it saves to run. A condensing furnace needs a condensate drain and different venting, and we explain what that means in your home before you choose.
Gas, venting and electrical connections
We connect the gas line, check for leaks, set up the flue or PVC venting to code, and wire the new unit and thermostat. Every connection is tested before we call the job done.
Permit and inspection
We pull the mechanical permit and arrange the inspection, so the work is on record and checked by someone other than us.
Removal and cleanup
The old furnace leaves with us. We lay down floor protection on the way in and leave the mechanical area swept and tidy.
Signs Your Furnace Is Ready to Be Replaced
A cracked heat exchanger
This is the part that keeps combustion gases separate from the air you breathe. Once it cracks, replacement is the safe answer, and we will show you photos of what we found.
Repair calls every winter
One repair is normal. When you are calling for a different part each season, that money is often better put toward a new unit.
Rooms that never feel even
Cold bedrooms and a hot hallway can point to an undersized furnace or a single-speed blower that cannot keep air moving gently.
Rising gas bills
If usage climbs while your habits stay the same, the furnace is likely losing efficiency as parts wear.
Yellow flames or soot
A healthy burner flame is blue. Yellow flames, soot around the cabinet or a sharp smell are reasons to have it looked at soon, and to keep a working carbon monoxide detector nearby.
How Installation Day Goes
- 1
Home visit and written estimate
We look at your current system, measure, and talk through options with you at the kitchen table. You get a written quote before any work begins, with each item listed.
- 2
Scheduling and permit
Once you choose a unit, we order it, file the permit and book a day that suits you. If the old furnace has already failed, we try to keep the gap without heat as short as we can.
- 3
Removal and setting the new unit
We shut off gas and power, protect the floors, remove the old furnace and set the new one level. Most replacements are finished in a single day.
- 4
Startup and walkthrough
We fire it up, measure gas pressure and temperature rise, and check for proper combustion. Then we show you the filter, the thermostat settings and what to watch for.
What Moves the Price
Furnace prices vary more than most people expect, and the unit itself is only part of it. We put every piece in writing so you can see where the money goes, and installation estimates are free.
- Efficiency rating
- A high-efficiency condensing furnace costs more up front than a standard unit but uses less gas every month. We help you weigh the two honestly.
- Blower and burner type
- Single-stage, two-stage and modulating furnaces differ in comfort, noise and price. Variable-speed blowers cost more and run quieter and more evenly.
- Venting changes
- Moving from a metal flue to PVC venting, or adding a condensate drain, adds labor and materials depending on where the furnace sits.
- Access and location
- A furnace in an open basement goes in faster than one tucked into a tight closet or crawlspace.
- Permit and extras
- Permit fees, a new thermostat or an upgraded air filter cabinet are listed separately so nothing surprises you.

How long does a furnace replacement take?
Most straightforward replacements take one day. Switching to a condensing furnace with new venting can stretch it a little longer. We give you a realistic timeline in the estimate.
Should I get a heat pump instead of a furnace?
It depends on your home and how you want to heat it. Many homeowners pair a heat pump with a gas furnace so the furnace handles the coldest days. Our Heat Pumps page explains that setup, and we are happy to price both side by side.
Do I need a permit for a new furnace?
Yes. A gas furnace replacement needs a mechanical permit and an inspection. We handle the paperwork and schedule the inspector, so you do not have to.
Will my existing ductwork work with a new furnace?
In many homes it does. During the visit we check whether your ducts can carry the airflow the new unit needs, and we tell you plainly what we see before you commit to anything.
What if my furnace quits in the middle of winter?
Call us any time. Emergency repairs are available around the clock, with no emergency or after-hours fees, and if replacement turns out to be the right answer we can talk through options once your home is safe.
